NEIA students attended the Massachusetts District 9 DECA Conference January 8th at Nichols College in Dudley, MA. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management at the secondary school and college level, through conference learning and mentoring opportunities. 800 students representing 15 schools entered in competitions to present and speak on business topics, and NEIA had 10 entries. At the end of the day, Vishnu Bharath ’28, Pearl Bogere ‘27 and Caroline Martz ‘27 took first place in the Start-Up Business Plan category; William Crawford ‘28, Alden Kuo ‘27 and Hana Moon ‘27 placed first for International Business Plan; Marcus Chin ‘29 came in first place for the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism category; and Diana Ilinescu ‘27 placed fourth for Innovation Plan.
