On April 3 we welcomed students for Accepted Students Day 2025. It was a day filled with excitement, discovery, and an inside look at the dynamic learning environment that sets NEIA apart. Families and students engaged in hands-on activities, explored academic offerings, and connected with the vibrant school community.
The day began with a warm welcome from Devin Worthington, Head of Enrollment, Meredith Coleman, Admissions Coordinator, and Rick Hardy, Interim Head of School, followed by a special greeting from Dr. Durga Suresh-Menon, NEIA’s Incoming Head of School, setting an inspiring tone for the day ahead. Middle and Upper School students attended immersive classes, including Science, Humanities, Math, and Innovation Studio, where they got a firsthand experience of NEIA’s interdisciplinary, project-based learning approach. Meanwhile, prospective parents participated in panels and Q&A sessions, hearing from current students and staff about the unique opportunities NEIA provides.
The day was filled with excitement and impactful moments. Hope, a current Middle School parent, shared, “We came here, and Gabriel loved it immediately.” She also highlighted NEIA’s distinctive approach, saying, “If he’s doing a math problem, he also writes a narrative about how he got to the answer… we really appreciate the integrated learning approach.”
Deb, an Upper School parent, echoed this idea, emphasizing how NEIA caters to the different learning styles of both of her daughters who attend NEIA: “We came across NEIA unexpectedly, but it has been the biggest blessing. We have two children here, both with different learning styles, and they both have opportunities that cater to their learning.”
For many families, NEIA’s hands-on, project-based learning approach was a key factor in their decision. “We were looking for a school that was more hands-on and project-based, and our son was very interested in the Hive,” shared Mandy, a Middle School parent. “When we were done with the tour, he asked me when he could start.”
Beyond academics, NEIA’s welcoming culture stood out to families. Dave, an Upper School parent noted, “When we came here, the one thing we really noticed was the culture… they treated their students warmly and like royalty.” He also appreciated the open-mindedness within the community, stating, “All different views and perspectives are encouraged here.”
Accepted students, too, had their share of memorable experiences. Ivette enjoyed the interactive math class, saying, “I liked math a lot because we played a game and got to earn candy.” Kendall shared her excitement about NEIA’s creative opportunities: “My favorite part of the day was drawing on sneakers. I’m excited to come here and do all the cool things the school has to offer.”
As the day concluded, families left campus with a deeper understanding of NEIA’s mission to nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every student. With Accepted Students Day setting the stage, the NEIA community anticipates welcoming the next group of innovators in the fall.
