New England Innovation Academy is thrilled to announce the appointment of J Gordon, affectionately known as “JGo”, as our new Head of Middle School. JGo received his B.A. in Anthropology and African American Studies from Yale University, followed by a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
JGo joins the NEIA community with an extensive background in independent school leadership. A true polymath, JGo’s deep understanding of learning and human development is informed by a remarkably diverse career. He has served as a middle and high school teacher, a middle school principal, and a senior learning strategist and director of content within the ed-tech sector. This unique blend of traditional school leadership and private sector innovation provides JGo with a distinct lens through which he crafts inspirational, future ready learning environments.
JGo’s appointment is rooted in a deep alignment of values at NEIA, we believe that education should move beyond the classroom, and JGo shares this core philosophy. Together, we are committed to ensuring that every student learns to think clearly by developing the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate a complex world; communicate effectively by mastering the art of expression across various platforms and audiences; and apply learning by taking academic concepts and translating them into meaningful, real world impact.
