New England Innovation Academy appointed Dr. Ihab Ismail, a distinguished scientist and a biotechnologist, as the Science Department Head. Bringing over two decades of experience at the intersection of clinical research and academic mentorship, Dr. Ismail will spearhead new heights in NEIA’s STEM and research programming.
Dr. Ismail holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Virginia Tech and an M.S. from The Ohio State University. His career is marked by a “scientist-first” approach to education, having served as a scientist and liaison at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the University of North Texas. A published author in peer reviewed journals, Dr. Ismail’s expertise spans CL Cell Biology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology.
Beyond the laboratory, Dr. Ismail is a distinguished academic strategist. As the founder of College Prep by Design, he has helped over 1,300 students reach the top 1–10% of national performance metrics. His unique ability to support a diverse range of learners, including those with ADHD and Dyscalculia, aligns with NEIA’s mission of human centered, inclusive innovation and culture.
