Required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in communications and/or marketing.
- Strong design skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Blackbaud system, Microsoft Suite of Products, WordPress, MailChimp.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position Summary
New England Innovation Academy is seeking a highly motivated Communications Coordinator to join our marketing content team. This individual will manage all internal and external communications and databases for the school. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, design skills, and experience with Blackbaud content management systems. NEIA employees are expected to embody NEIA’s principles of empathy, equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaboration in all work activities and actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Enrollment, Interim Head of School, and Director of Strategic Marketing
to develop and execute communication strategies for the school. - Partner with Head of Collaborations on auxiliary and summer programming communication
strategies. - Create and manage the school’s internal and external communications including content within
the Blackbaud system. - Develop and execute a strategic communication plan that aligns with the school’s goals and
objectives. Ensure that all communication materials, including, but not limited to emails,
newsletters, flyers, presentations, and other promotional materials reflect NEIA’s brand and
messaging consistently. - Manage and maintain the school’s database and email communications.
- Ensure timely and effective communications with students, parents, and staff through various
channels. Collaborate with different departments to gather and disseminate important
information to ensure consistent and effective messaging. - Work with senior leadership to publish an annual calendar and keep events updated in the
Blackbaud system. - Collaborate with Digital Content Manager to develop social media campaigns to enhance the
school’s online presence and communication engagement.Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends. - Plan, create, coordinate, and disseminate communications for NEIA.
- Promote school events through various communication channels. Coordinate with event
organizers to ensure effective communication and publicity. - Gather information and review material necessary for creating and distributing the school’s
newsletter, “The Beat,” the Daily Bulletin, and other school-wide events. - Forward notices and send invitations to appropriate groups and track the attendance for these
notices and invitations. - Build and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders. Represent the school at
community events and activities to enhance its visibility and reputation. - Partners with Designer in Residence & Director of Branding to ensure the integrity and
consistency of NEIA’s editorial and visual brand and design standards. - Attends school social and promotional events as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required by the position and the
school. - Support Director of Strategic Marketing with crisis communication. Help develop and
implement crisis communication plans; be the point of contact for media during crisis, ensuring
accurate and timely information dissemination.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Communications Coordinator does not supervise anyone.
