New England Innovation Academy Announces Grand Opening of State-of-the-Art $20 Million Athletic Center

New England Innovation Academy (NEIA) is proud to announce the grand opening of its new $20 million Athletic Center on May 21st. This milestone marks a significant expansion of the NEIA campus, providing students and the surrounding community with a world class environment for physical education, wellness, and elite competition.

The grand opening ceremony featured keynote remarks from NEIA Co-Founder and Head of School, Raymond Chang. Joining the celebration are Co-Founders and Trustees Jane Du and Jean Jones (Trustee Chair), alongside distinguished local leaders including Marlborough Mayor Christian Dumas and Michelle Mercier, CEO & President of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce. Also in attendance to celebrate this expansion were esteemed college coaches Rich Parker (Dartmouth men’s golf) and Katie Rudolph (Columbia women’s golf).

Spanning 30,000 square feet, the new complex is designed to be more than just a sports facility; it is a dedicated hub for energy, teamwork, and school spirit. The state-of-the-art building features a premier space for basketball and volleyball, featuring an indoor upper-level track, a fully equipped, modern weight room designed for student-athletes, and dedicated yoga and mindfulness space to support holistic student health.

Embodying NEIA’s commitment to community integration, the facility has already secured several major regional partnerships. It currently serves as a hub for elite youth sports, hosting the New England Football Club, IFA New England, Boston Celtics Junior Camp, and Nike Camp. Looking toward the future, NEIA is set to launch a junior fencing program and plans are underway to bring one of New England’s premier elite junior golf academies and indoor golf facilities to the campus.

Jenni Franklin, NEIA’s Director of College Counseling, delivered a heartfelt welcome remark: “Today, we aren’t just opening a gym,” she said. “We are opening a lab. It’s a space where students build courage by trying a yoga class, resilience by losing a game and getting back up, and commitment through the steady work of practice, because as any innovator knows, a future-ready mind isn’t built apart from the body.”
