Financial Aid

Everyone at NEIA believes that innovation is fueled by diversity. The cost of attending NEIA shouldn’t be a deterrent, but rather spark a conversation about how to best work together to offer your child an educational environment where they will thrive.

OVERVIEW

NEIA is committed to providing our innovative education to a broad and diverse range of students. Furthermore, as a human-centered design school, we have listened to your hopes and concerns about navigating the traditional financial aid process. We are pleased to offer a mindful, dignified, and inclusive model. NEIA offers need-based financial assistance. It is our shared goal that this assistance meets the difference between what a family can afford and the cost of tuition, room, and board and allows all admitted students to be able to enroll.

Families requesting financial assistance should complete the Parent Financial Statement (PDF) for 2025-26 online via Clarity Financial Aid.

We intend to work with each family seeking financial assistance to create a tuition plan that is transparent and equitable. At NEIA, we understand that families need to plan ahead for investing in their child’s education, and the Clarity Financial Aid application enables NEIA to take the guesswork out of the process. Families will receive an individualized tuition plan with the admission decision.

Merit Scholarships

NEIA awards merit scholarships based on a student’s academic, artistic, letter of recommendations, volunteer service or athletic achievements rather than financial need. Merit scholarships range from $5,000 to $15,000 and will remain for the duration of the students time at NEIA.

Financial Aid Step By Step

Beginning October 2nd, families can complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) for 2022-23 online at https://sssandtadsfa.force.com/familyportal.  A helpful SSS Family Resource Center is also available. Contact NAIS customer service at 1-800-344-8328 if you have questions about completing the PFS.

Deadline: February 1

The following must be uploaded directly to SSS:

  • Signed copies of your family’s 2021 federal tax return (1040), including all supporting schedules and forms. Returning families may already have 2020 tax materials filed with SSS.
  • 2021 W-2s and/or 1099s (if applicable).
  • Non-US residents: Submit official Income/Asset Verification Forms for 2021, such as foreign tax returns and/or wage statements.
  • The non-custodial parent must also submit a PFS form and 2021 IRS returns, including all schedules and copies of W-2s and 1099s.

Deadline: March 1

The following must be uploaded directly to SSS:

  • Completed and signed 2022 IRS returns, including all personal and corporate, partnership, and trust schedules, and copies of W-2s and 1099s.

No official award can be finalized until your 2022 tax forms, completed and signed, are uploaded to SSS and available to NEIA. We realize that preparing income tax returns in advance of IRS deadlines presents an inconvenience. Nonetheless, this information is essential to the award process.

Deadline March 10

Financial aid decisions are emailed to families of admitted students.

Deadline April 10

Deadline for acceptance of financial aid awards. Enrollment contracts and deposits must be received for all students, new and returning.

After April 10

After the new student and returning student enrollment process has been completed, NEIA can consider new applications for financial aid from families that enrolled initially without financial aid. Awards are not guaranteed at this point, depending upon the number of applicants and the remaining resources.
