OVERVIEW

NEIA is committed to providing our innovative education to a broad and diverse range of students. Furthermore, as a human-centered design school, we have listened to your hopes and concerns about navigating the traditional financial aid process. We are pleased to offer a mindful, dignified, and inclusive model. NEIA offers need-based financial assistance. It is our shared goal that this assistance meets the difference between what a family can afford and the cost of tuition, room, and board and allows all admitted students to be able to enroll.

Families requesting financial assistance will be able to complete and submit an application for 2026-27 online beginning December 1.

We intend to work with each family seeking financial assistance to create a tuition plan that is transparent and equitable. At NEIA, we understand that families need to plan ahead for investing in their child’s education, and the application will enable NEIA to take the guesswork out of the process. Families will receive an individualized tuition plan with the admission decision.

Merit Scholarships

New England Innovation Academy’s merit scholarship program recognizes and supports students who demonstrate academic achievement, artistic talent, leadership, character or community engagement. NEIA is committed to fostering a diverse and innovative student community aligned with the school’s mission and values. Merit scholarships range from $5,000 to $15,000 and will remain for the duration of the students time at NEIA.

This Facilities and Programming fee covers all materials, including Innovation Studio, The Hive, and all experiential learning day field trip costs.

A small number of single dormitory rooms are available to 11th and 12th graders for an additional fee, on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact boarding@neiacademy.org for more details.

Tuition may be paid in one of three payment plan options:

Plan A – Full payment due by July 1 (Payment may be made by Blackbaud Tuition Management, check or wire)

Plan B – Two equal payments due July 1 and December 1 (Enrollment in Blackbaud Tuition Management)

Plan C – Ten monthly payments from July through April (Enrollment in Blackbaud Tuition Management)

Financial Aid FAQs

What is the financial aid timeline?

Deadline for returning student financial aid applications: January 1

Deadline to submit IRS forms and employer paystubs: February 6

Student re-enrollment contracts sent: February 11

Deadline for new student financial aid applications: February 15

New student enrollment contracts sent: March 10

New and returning families will be notified of their awards via their enrollment contracts

After NEIA the new student and returning enrollment process has been completed, NEIA can consider new applications for financial aid from families that enrolled initially without financial aid. Awards are not guaranteed, depending on the number of applicants and the remaining resources.
Will applying for financial aid affect my child’s chances for admission?

All families who are interested in financial aid must apply. Most admitted students that qualify for financial aid receive offers of assistance. For those who do not, however, we must caution that families enrolling without financial aid cannot expect to receive assistance in subsequent years.
How do I apply for financial aid?

To get started, please go to the Clarity Financial Aid and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete and is mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.
How are awards determined?

Financial aid grants are awarded based on a family’s demonstrated need. NEIA uses information collected on the Clarity Financial Aid, supplemental tax documentation, and a deep understanding of each family’s individual financial circumstances in order to calculate each grant. Items such as how many household members exist, income, assets, expenses, and liabilities are all taken into account in our calculations.
Does New England Innovation Academy offer merit scholarships?

Yes. NEIA is pleased to award merit scholarships based on a student’s academic, artistic, letter of recommendations, volunteer service or other achievements. Merit scholarships range from $5,000 to $15,000 and will remain for the duration of the students time at NEIA.
Will my child’s financial aid award change from year to year? What if my finances change?

You are required to reapply for financial aid each year. Your award will stay the same, unless a change in circumstances. We are committed to making sure that NEIA is affordable for all admitted and returning innovators.
What happens in cases of divorce, separation, and single parents?

In cases of divorce or separation, NEIA requires both natural parents to apply for financial aid. The custodial and non-custodial parents must complete the financial aid application and provide copies of all tax schedules directly to Clarity Financial Aid. Stepparents’ ability to contribute to a student’s education is also considered.
Is my financial information confidential?

All applications for financial aid are confidential. Only the Enrollment team and the Head of School have access to the records.
Is financial aid available for international applicants?

We are not able to offer financial aid to international families however, we do have merit scholarships for those interested in applying. Qualifying students can be eligible to receive merit for $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000. Please reach out to enrollment@neiacademy.org for more information and to apply.

Please note: Financial aid and merit scholarships for international students are difficult to obtain at American colleges and universities upon graduation from NEIA.
