What was your first job, and what’s the part you still remember?
I worked at a frozen yogurt shop in the basement of a mall in Seattle. I remember getting really good at measuring 4oz of frozen yogurt and getting to eat all the left overs at the end of the day.

BACKGROUND
Mrs. Silber’s work focuses on creating meaningful learning experiences that connect students to their communities and the world around them. As NEIA’s Director of Curriculum and Interdisciplinary Programs and a teacher, she works to strengthen connections across disciplines, helping students apply their learning through collaborative, hands-on experiences and real-world projects. She also supports faculty in developing innovative, student-centered approaches to teaching and learning.
Before joining NEIA, she served as Dean of Academics at The Island School in The Bahamas, where she led curriculum development, faculty support, and academic programming. Mrs. Silber also served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction and a science teacher at Sky Islands High School in Tucson, Arizona. Her teaching experience spans ecology, environmental science, scientific research, engineering, and sustainability.
