BACKGROUND
Mrs. Xie has two decades of experience teaching Mandarin, developing world language curriculum, and creating meaningful connections between language and culture. She has taught Mandarin Levels 1–5 and AP Mandarin at Westborough Public Schools, where she developed curriculum and assessments and created opportunities for students to engage with Chinese culture through field studies, community events, and exchanges with visiting students and teachers from China.
Her experience extends beyond the classroom. Mrs. Xie has served as an adjunct faculty member and practicum supervisor at Mount Holyoke College, mentoring future language educators, and previously served as the Director of Century Chinese Language School, where she developed programs for heritage learners and supported and mentored fellow teachers.
Outside of teaching, Mrs. Xie is an active member of the local Chinese-American community and a longtime practitioner of Chinese calligraphy and painting. She founded the Chinese-American Association of North-Southboro and has helped organize cultural and community events throughout the region.
