Tamara Smith
Interim Head of Community Life; Theater Teacher
BACKGROUND
Tamara began her teaching career at the Vietnam Australia School in Hanoi, teaching English and Business studies. She then moved on to Newington College in Sydney, Australia for 14 years, serving in the roles of head of drama and head of Metcalfe House before arriving at NEIA in 2022 as a Drama Teacher. As an on-campus resident and house parent for the past three years and most recently serving NEIA in the roles of Director of Residential Life and Director of the Middle and Upper Schools, Tamara has built and managed teams, strengthened pastoral care systems, and expanded curriculum and co-curricular programs. She knows NEIA well and is deeply passionate about student well-being and school culture and enjoys working closely with all members of the school community.
