Over the past two days, students in our Entrepreneurial Mindset Summer Program with Babson College have had the opportunity to learn from a multitude of Babson professors and some of our very own NEIA staff.
Eliana Crosina, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College, led Tuesday`s session by talking about your passions and how to bring them to life when starting a business. She went over person-opportunity fit and product-opportunity fit and how these two go together. She told an inspiring story of a Babson alum who took his passion for weightlifting and turned it into an organization that took kids off the streets and into gyms for a better life. Her session was not just informational, but inspiring to our students as they were able to see that having a passion and purpose are two of the most important drivers of the most successful entrepreneurs.
Students also heard from Marvin Vilma, Managing Director of Development at Let`s Get Ready, a non-profit that provides students from low-income backgrounds with mentorship, SAT preparation, admission counseling, and other services to help them succeed in high school and get accepted into college.
On Wednesday, Marie Assir, our very own Director of College Counseling, led students in a session on best practices when applying to college. Students also heard from John Turner, our Director of Branding and Designer in Residence. John taught our students about personal branding, starting by walking students through what makes a great logo. Students then learned about what it means to brand a company as well as themselves. They created their very own missions that would lead their personal brand.
It is such an honor to have such amazing educators teaching our students. We are watching the future generations transform right before our eyes.
