BACKGROUND
Ms. Dina Gjertsen teaches materials and methodologies in NEIA’s maker space. Most recently at Fayerweather Street School, she runs K-6 shop classes and a middle school technology elective spanning woodworking, electronics, 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, Arduino, and coding. Before that she spent nine years as co-director of Parts and Crafts, a nonprofit maker space in Somerville, and she founded the Somerville Tool Library, the first in Greater Boston, on seed grants she won herself. She is also a working artist whose sculpture and installation work has been shown around Boston, and she previously supervised exhibit operations at the Museum of Science.
