What do you say to a student who tells you they’re not creative?
Creativity can take so many different forms. You may not have found the medium or outlet that feels right for you yet and that’s okay. Keep exploring, experimenting, and trying new things. You might be more creative than you think.
What did you want to be at 15, and how close did you get?
I once wanted to be a novelist, to create entire worlds through my imagination. I may not be as close to becoming what I envisioned at 15, but I’ve found another way to do what I love: getting to know people and telling their stories.
What did you do prior to joining NEIA that has nothing to do with education?
I worked in management consulting and at a consumer technology company on their strategy team.
