Just as we are about to go on November break—during a time of year when we should take stock of all the things we are thankful for—NEIA has received amazing news.
New England Innovation Academy has been granted Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Independent Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The decision was made at the Commission’s meeting on November 6-7, 2023, and will be reported to the Board of Trustees of the Association on December 6, 2023. It goes without saying, but this is an important milestone for all of us. It is the culmination of days, months, and even years of hard work.
In reaching this decision, the Commission thoroughly reviewed NEIA’s Self-Study, Visiting Team Report, and response letter. The Visiting Team identified numerous areas for commendation, expressing particular enthusiasm for NEIA’s commitment to innovation through human-centered design. The report directly stated, “New England Innovation Academy is anything but traditional, and the Commission commends NEIA for the vibrant, dedicated, and positive culture created throughout the entire learning community.” The Visiting Team also commended us for not just building an exceptional physical space for innovation but also an environment that embraces and fosters creativity, change, and experimentation.
Tom Wolper, Head of School, would like to thank everyone, every last staff member and innovator and guardian, for the part they played in getting our school to this moment.
