Animating Question
How do we prepare students to flourish and stand strong when we are no longer with them?
BACKGROUND
Matthew Rassias Miles, a child of New Hampshire, is grateful to bring more than four years of living and studying abroad to his role at NEIA. While a student in Rome, Italy, Matt was a proud member of student-life clubs and was employed by Student Life in different capacities, including as a Resident Advisor. During college, he spent two summers abroad teaching elementary and middle school students. He believes, from day one, a healthy community life focuses on all members taking responsibility for community building while still staying humble within that environment. This way of being began in elementary school and continued through high school, as a hockey referee, camp counselor, when living with a family in Spain, on a number of sports teams, and working in restaurants. Being part of NEIA has confirmed this belief and he is happy to be working within this new and groundbreaking world.
EDUCATION
B.A., John Cabot University, Rome, Italy

Don't let yourself fall stagnant; find ways to march forward, using that momentum to form good habits. Passion ignites the spark but it will not grow beyond a certain point without fuel. A regimen of strict daily practice, even when passion wanes, is what is needed to master anything in life.
