BACKGROUND

Laura began her career in education in 1988 as a middle school English teacher at Cardigan Mountain School’s summer program. For the next seven years, she worked with a wide variety of students, from 3-year-olds in preschool to adults in community college. These experiences fueled her fascination with how people learn and led her to the field of academic support.

Laura went on to develop academic support programs in three independent schools, starting with Worcester Academy in 1995 and, most recently, serving as the Coordinator for Academic Support at Winsor School. In addition to spearheading a nonprofit association for learning specialists, Laura has engaged in a national conversation about academic support through her professional networks, conference presentations, and published articles.
